We are a small group of dog friends who work 100% voluntarily with the one purpose to help and support Maria Cristina Rieza and her husband Adrian, with their hard work in Romania. These 2 people fight daily to help ALL the street dogs they find and try to help these dogs to a better life outside of Romania. They call their project “Hope for the Future” and can be found here at this link, which is managed by the German support department:

Our mission

In a world where man has everything, we try to help everything we can.

We are a bunch of enthusiasts who all work voluntarily to help needy animals from Romania. We have done this in many different contexts, some of us for a number of years.

Therefore we have started this non-profit association as supporting and backing for ‘Hope for the Future’.

Why have we chosen to focus on Romania and Maria and Adrian’s work to save dogs?

  • First of all, because we can see how huge the need is. Romania is one of the absolute poorest countries in Europe, where inequality and corruption make everything very difficult.
  • Secondly, because we can see that the help Maria and Adrian receive from several countries actually makes a huge difference. Everyone can personally follow this by following Maria and several of the groups we link to on this page.
  • Thirdly because the shelter is in Europe. And that it is actually possible to visit or participate as a volunteer on site and experience it all with your own eyes, if desired.
  • Last but not least, we have all a longer private acquaintance with Maria and Adrian. We have each of us worked with Maria, either by being foster families for their adoption dogs, by helping with the transport of dogs and thus either having met either Maria or Adrian or by contributing as volunteers in the form of fundraisers in other contexts.

– Maria and Adrian help all dogs, big and small, puppies, as old and sick dogs.

You can read more about Maria and Adrian’s work here on the homepage, which we have chosen to call ‘Romanian Dogs’ and which on our facebook page is called ‘Romanian Dogs Maria’s Support Group’, as well as the various links we refer to on these pages.

As the world looks today, unfortunately, there are many who need help and support. Both humans, animals and nature. Fortunately, there are also many who then gather to try to make a difference for a specific group of animals, people or environment / climate / nature that they think is important to support.

s with this background that we have formed this association.

We have for a number of years observed how Maria, as a young Romanian woman, has struggled to help the dogs she has found daily and for almost no means. Over the years, her network has fortunately grown and so has her family, which now counts herself and her husband as well as a now almost grown daughter and their little boy who came into the world in 2020.
